Multisourcing Approaches with F&O

What approaches are available to handle multisourcing recommendations for MRP in F&O? For example, if the same item is sourced from multiple suppliers what can the system make recommendations based on rules?

In other ERP systems I have used I have seen options like:
-Round-robin (recommending purchasing every other order)
-% of demand splitting where the volumes get split between supplier based on a defined percent (example 30% supplier A and 70% supplier B)

    Thanks in advance!

    Marc,

This is a question I get from my clients frequently, unfortunately Dynamics does not have a great method to split orders between multiple vendors out of the box.  The best method it has is to create a trade agreements with a specified lead time in the agreement for each of the vendors and leave the Vendor field on the released product blank.  Then there is a parameter at Master planning parameters on the Planned order tab called "Find trade agreements" which you should set to Yes.  You can then choose whether to find the vendor with the shortest lead time or lowest price.  This won't alternate between the vendors but does allow you to set multiple vendors on an item.

Outside of this process you would need development on how the vendor is selected on the planned purchase order to reach your goal.

    Thanks,
