So many things to set up in AX...
Perhaps you need to set up an e-mail template:
Go to Organization administration > Setup > E-mail templates
Mark off "Show system e-mails" so you make the e-mail alerts a system e-mail.
Then create one that is tied to your Alert batch group.
Fill in the e-mail ID, description, language, set a sender name, and sender e-mail
Here is what I have in my in my e-mail template (you can customize however you want to look with as much or as little as you want)

Thanks everyone for all your help! I am now receiving e-mails whenever a PO changes to receive status. Is there any way I can let the user know which PO it was that was received? My email only says "PO has been received" and she likes that but now wants to know which PO it actually was!
Thanks,
Sally

Here are the two:
System administration > Periodic > Alerts > Change based alerts
System Administration > Periodic > E-mail Processing > Batch
Also, you'll want to make sure you have a server that is set up to do batch processing (check one server as "Is batch server")
System administration --> Setup --> System --> Server configuration
And set up batch groups to assign them to a batch sever:
System administration --> Setup --> Batch group

have you started the batch jobs that run the alert system? these are jobs that look for the changes and process them. Sorry I don't remember the exact names but there are 2 jobs process change based alerts and another one, these actually causer the alerts to be delivered

Thank you Paul. It is still not working. Do you think I need to set this up as a batch job? This is my first alert. The user is only getting e-mails when a PO has been received. We are a small company so I don't think she even gets any received on a daily basis.

just aq word of caution about alerts. They are truly a great feature, but when you set them up take a little time to be sure of the alerts you will receive. I have seen badly created alerts really impact a system and totally stop alerts from working because they created constant alert situations and produced hundreds of thousands of alerts in a very short time. One other factor to consider is if you set up an alert for you think about the volume of alerts, say you set it up and you get 400 alerts a day, most of these will go un looked at, as you have other duties. Just like in reporting more is not always better, after page 2 most people quit looking at a report. So just think about this and you can then take advantage of the alert function.

Good Morning!
I am hoping someone can help with my alert issue. I have never created an alert and a user in Finance would like to be alerted via e-mail whenever a PO goes to "receive" status. I tried to do this for her but she is not receiving the e-mail alert. I went to Procurement & Sourcing ->All Purchase Orders. I right clicked in the form and clicked on "create alert rule". I created a query for all purchase orders in receive status. I put in her e-mail address and closed. She is not receiving an alert e-mail. Below is the "overview" of the alert I created, the screen print of the "general" tab, and the select query.
Please advise as to what I am doing wrong and how to correct this problem. See attachments below.
Thanks so much for your help!
