Customer Address Change Not Propigating

    Good morning,

We have a bizarre issue. We recently changed (edited the record of) the Invoice address of a customer. This address was both the primary address and set as the default. In the customer record, everything looks correct with the new address. However, when we create a new sales order, the old address shows up - even though it no longer exists under that customer.

What are we doing wrong? I don't want to leave the old address in the customer record and add a new one. Even setting defaults, having multiple addresses with an Invoice purpose could cause errors to be made. We can't simply delete the old address as it's been used. Editing the record seemed like the correct choice, but obviously isn't. I'm stumped.

    Hi Steve.
Since your changes doesn't kick in, have you tried to clear the users AUC-files? It could have the old value stored.

    They are located here: C:\Users\"user"\AppData\Local

    Best regards

Under the address menu bar on the customer detail screen, check the default address. When you have multiple addresses, that is used to control which one defaults onto the orders. I'm assuming you managed to change the address without getting that setting updated. (It usually gets set to the first address you enter for a purpose).

Aside from what has already been mentioned, do you have multiple addresses with an "Invoice" purpose?  This could very well be the problem, especially if you have a customized invoice report.

    Thanks for the replies all.

Glenn, we have not tried that. This issue is affecting multiple users. The solution you propose would, I think, also eliminate UI personalizations people have made. We'll pick one user and test it, but we'd like to avoid interfering with how people have their system set up if we can avoid it.

Tony, the original address was the default. Once I edited that address, I expected it to simply update that record number and thus the default. It doesn't seem to have worked that way. When I checked the default, prior to posting my original question, it was still showing the old address. Using the drop down, I selected the new address, which had a different party ID than the original. The old address no longer even shows as an option. However, even with the new address properly showing set as the default, the old address is still defaulting when a new sales order is created. Thus the reason for my post. I'm guessing that the original party record is still set as default somehow, but I don't know how/where.

Christi, we do have multiple addresses with the "invoice" purpose. However, this one is showing as the default. Also, the issue is on the sales order header in AX, as well as when we print. The invoice form is customized, but the problem appears on the AX screens as well. I don't think the invoice report is the source of the problem.

    Hi Steve.
It will not change user UI changes. It is only a kind of local cache for quicker load times.
When you delete the files, the next time you run the application the files will be created again, but with fresh data.
I have seen this a few time, mostly during modifications.

The personalizations is to be found under 'System administration/Users/User name/Options/Usage data'.

    Best regards

Thanks Glenn. That's good to know.

I am not seeing and .AUC files on my desktop in that folder. We connect via RDS. Would they be on the RDS virtual machine instead of the user's local machine?

Ah, I remember looking into that code before - and I also recall that if it often likes to default to the delivery address if it has problems selecting the invoice address. Perchance is the delivery address on the order still set to the old address?

Btw - a lot of the code involved in setting the invoice address on the invoice can be found at \tables\custinvoicejour\setInvoiceAddress()
    It's surprisingly complex :/
