  • 1.  Direct Delivery Sales Order

    I am trying to create a direct delivery from a vendor to a customer by first creating a sales order line then clicking the direct delivery option. At this point I am beyond frustrated because I keep getting this error no matter what I try. Can anyone help me understand exactly what AX is looking for me to do?

    What version of AX are you running?

    Hi William,
    The only Confirmed Ship Date I am aware of for sales orders is under the Line Details section of the order screen, select "Delivery" tab.  There is a "simulate delivery dates" button that you can select and choose the center bottom button "update confirmed ship date" and it will populate these fields for you.  We are in AX2012R3 so if you are not, maybe there is something similar out there.  Hate being frustrated with Dynamics AX, hope this helps.

    Thanks, Ian and Janine. I also got a suggestion via a private reply. Still no success though.

    I am using 2012 R3. The other suggestion was to make sure the confirmed ship date and requested receipt date were equal. I tried that again at the header level and allowed AX to update the lines as shown below. Still didn't work.

    I also tried your suggestion, Janine, but no success there either.

    I cannot find any information about this particular error on the internet, but let me see if your links help, Ian.

    I am thinking either:
    1. Lead times are somehow causing the problem, but I tried to factor this out by setting the ship date far out in the future.
    2. Perhaps a customization is somehow interfering
    3. Something about the sandbox environments I am trying this in is not up to date. Maybe a calendar or something.

    Honestly I am just making wild guesses at this point

    Hi William,
    We use direct delivery but the PO creation is manual. Maybe turn off auto PO creation and walk through that process manually to see where the error occurs.

    Hi William

    I believe that may not be a standard error message: The first reason I think this is that the word Date has a capital D. AX is very much against the frivolous use of capital letters like that! Secondly, the word comfirmed has two m's. This is what really clinched it for me!

    Do you, by chance, have a modification which has added a Shipping Date comfirmed field to the PO Header or Line, and this field is not allowed to be blank?

    in the other company, check the delivery settings and turn off
    2ns in IC setup, suggest to use delivery date as receipt date
