  • 1.  Project Accounting Hours Journal - subcontractors

    We want to be able to track contractor hours on a project while also being able to enter the contractor invoice directly into the project for accurate account reconciliation.

    Two issues really:

    Hours uses the "payroll allocation" ledger posting.  We can update that by project or create a category to handle the costs.
    How can we then connect the contractor invoice to the project without double counting.

    I would create a separate category for the contractor hours and enter them at $0 cost. You'll be able to accumulate/report on the qty of hours as the project progresses and then reconcile your cost when the invoice is entered. OR, enter hours as you go with correct cost and post a credit memo in conjunction with the invoice for the hours portion you have already entered.
