    Hello Everyone,

i hope you are all Happy, Healthy and Safe,

I was wondering if anyone is considering or using the new E commerce platform that Microsoft offers, if so, what are your thought, what do you like don't like, what problems are you having, what issue's do you foresee?

Any info you can provide would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks

Hi there from (COVID-free) New Zealand

We are going live with our core upgrade from AX 2009 to D365FO at the end of May. I have done a lot of research into our next phase which includes website integration and  eCommerce. Although we have more work to do, the below DynamicWeb product is looking to be our preferred out of the box solution. We found that we needed the enterprise version of SANA eCommerce which was double our budget. Microsoft Commerce is currently targeted at B2C and still in its infancy. DynamicWeb seems to be much more comprehensive, affordable and easy to implement than anything else I have seen.  It is tightly integrated with AX/NAV/D365 and has been undergoing continuous improvement since 1999. Good luck on your journey, finding a product that suits your business.

    Hello Ian,

Interestingly enough i know of a live customer on commerce in your neck of the woods.  https://www.cittadesign.com/ You may want to reach out to them.

Please also remember Dynamics 365 for Fraud is out of the box integrated with the Commerce solution. Its a product you may want to evaluate as well

    Hello Mara,

So the first thing to say around the ecommerce part of Dynamics 365 for commerce is that it is a real thing.  Sometimes Microsoft does come out with options that are not really going to get the investment effort behind them.  This is not the case with this offering.  The amount of investment in it and where it is going as per its road map really does make it a serious option if you already or are looking at dynamics 365.

I am aware of companies that are live with the product and i know, well know UK retail customers who are stress testing and pen testing it currently with good results.

Primarily the issues with the platform for me and with the D365 commerce piece in general is payments.  If you are not going to use Adyen then you will need to invest in either an ISV or customisation to handle your payment provider.  Something many people do however it does take effort and testing which some of the competitors have out of the box.  And remember this is a purely B2C offering...currently

    Hello Mara,

X2X e-Commerce has a fabulous integration with D365. Unlike Sana Commerce and the other e-Commerce solutions, the integration is embedded within D365 and communicates data bilaterally between D365 and the eCommerce platform. Also, X2X e-Commerce can work with any eCommerce enterprise platform whether it is Magento, Shopify, or WooCommerce. I would recommend that you reach out to those guys over there. Also, they are currently offering a quick store set-up to help businesses stay successful during this current health crisis. I hope this helps.
