  • 1.  BYOD - Data export failing for a single data entity

    Posted Feb 28, 2020 11:25 AM
I'm currently running to an error when I try to export a data entity to our BYOD.  I'm getting the following error message

    Log Text
Export Execution failed for entity Sales invoice lines:Export failed while copying data from staging to destination

    Info log
An error occurred in add data flow component for entity store

Currently I have over 20 data entities that I'm exporting to BYOD and they are exporting without any errors.  I have tried republishing this data entity multiple times but I continue to get this same error.  I have compared the entity schema to the destination and they match.  I have tried incremental only and full push only and I have tried running it interactively and in batch.

Any suggestions on other things I can look at to troubleshoot this error?

    Hey Mike;

Curious on the release that you are running...
We had an issue with "Sales Invoice Headers V2" on an export to BYOD aftyer we migrated to 10.0.7 for which we opened a SEV-A Ticket with MS (120012621000151 Sales Invoice Headers V2 Export to BYOD Failed)...

We spent a "long weekend" troubleshooting and debugging this entity as it supports multiple 3rd party extracts and internal dashboards...
In the end, we reverted the use of the 10.0.4 entity...  MS openly admitted that the construct of the 10.0.7 entity was an error and was missed in the QA process...

    Hello Joe

We just migrated from 10.0.4 to 10.0.8 last weekend.

How did you revert back to the 10.0.4 entity after you had moved to a newer version?  Did you have to roll back the update?  Fortunately this is only in our sandbox environment as we are building out integrations in preparation for going live this summer but I don't want to wait too long to get this fix.

    Hey Michael...

There is a 'trick' to be able to gain access to the prior release Data Management Entity...
    See the attached...

    Mike,
We have seen the below additional steps fix the issue at times when there were significant changes to an entity (like a PK change etc). We use custom entities so I can't confirm this resolved any OOB entity issues.

Delete the entity from all export/import projects (not the run history, just the projects)
Delete the entity from Data entity list
Refresh Entity List to restore the data entity to list
Check the entity mapping for disabled config key fields and remove them/save mapping
Republish the entity and test full push export first

    Thanks,
    Mike
