Commissions - no results

    Hello out there!

I am not getting commission transactions on invoices.  We are not live, but this is critical to 'go live'.  Am at wits end now and looking for guidance.  The customer groups for commission, sales groups and item groups all seem to be established correctly.  The calculations have been defined and assigned to of the commission groups.  The groups all show from the customer to the sales order header and order lines like they should.  Inventory is reserved, picked, registered, packed and invoiced.

    What am I missing?

Still a rookie in AX.  We are on AX 2012 R3.

Here is a screenshot of the commission no-show:

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Mark,

In the header details of the SO, under the setup fast tab, is the sales/commission group populated?

    Hello Mark,

What is your base setup for commission calculation setups?  Are the commission and commission offset accounts assigned to the Commission groups?

The other information needed concerns your setup between items and sales groups.  Is your matrix complex or simple?  Are all item groups and all sales groups treated the same for the calculation of commission?  Our company has a tiered commission system depending on product sold.  The most common reason we have for no commission calculation is a mismatch between the item group, the sales group and the matrix of how much commission is paid per group.  If you need more assistance a screen shot of your calculation setup may help the group help you.

Thank you all for your help on this.  A  Word document is attached with screenshots of the commission setups, sales order header, sales order detail and item info where commission is concerned.  This is an initial test trying to pay a straight 5% commission on a sales order with one line item.  Also of note, the 'Sales Rep' is a 'Worker' and is typed as 'Contractor' - this one is not set up as an 'Employee'.

The missing field (I think) on your setup is the date range.  I always setup the commission calculation to be effective the date I set it up until 01/01/2099.  If for some reason I have to eliminate a sales group then I can end date that commission calculation with an edit so the system will stop calculating from that point forward.  I think since you have no dates, the system thinks your setup is not active.

per Debbie's latest response - I assigned a 'From date' of 8/1/2019 and a 'To date' of 12/31/2099.  Created a new sales order with all the same information then processed all the way through invoice.  The invoice journal does not show any commission transactions yet.

Curiosity question  - what does the 'Find Next' of the 'Commission Calculation' accomplish?  (Main focus is still getting commission to show.)

We don't use the find next ourselves, but as I understand it, "find next" would allow you to layer a commission program.  For example, you could pay a 2% commission on gross sales then pay an additional 2% commission based on net sales after discounts to the same rep, for the same customer and the same items.

There are similar fields in trade agreements - allowing you to set a base price for sales of 1 to 10 items then adding another discount for sales of 10 or more as an example.

As a general rule of thumb I always uncheck the find next when I setup new calculations.  I only add them back in where I have done some testing and validation in our sandbox environment to make sure they have the effect I want them to.

    Deb,

That's how I understood the 'Find Next' to work as well.  I turned it on in a desperation attempt hoping it might get our commission to work - to no avail.

    Thanks.

Found another missing field.  The item setup screen shot you sent for the item on your invoice does not have a commission group populated.  The item group of "5" needs to be on every item you want this commission matrix to calculate commissions for.

    Deb,

That is true.  But the sales order line detail (page 8) shows 'Andon5%' as the commission sales group for the line.  Wouldn't this cover it similar to overriding what might come from the 'item setup'?

You refer to a 'matrix'...would you provide an example of that in order to better understand?

    Mark.
