The field and all contents in the database is safe for Microsoft updates. The custom fields creation will create a table extension on run-time only. I'm not fully sure if the form personalization needs to be revisited when the form will get some tweaks within an update. That might impact the place where the control is displayed on the form.

Does anyone know if adding your own custom field as shown below can cause issues when there are Microsoft updates? I was hoping to use this to add notes to lines on certain forms (such as cycle count work details). The notes just need to be seen by other users for review.
