Posted project transactions with incorrect financial dimension

  • 1.  Posted project transactions with incorrect financial dimension

    Hi,

    Question:

A project was initially set up with the incorrect financial dimensions and some postings have gone through.
So I went in and edited the project to the correct financial dimension. However, how do I change the postings that went through with the incorrect financial dimensions? It had to be corrected as the cost center is suspended and causing inventory recalculation errors.

    Thank you in advance!

    Ethel

    Hello Ethel,
Select the project and go to posted Transaction and click Adjust Transaction.
Select Dimension=Yes  and select all transaction you want to update.
Update the Financial Dimension on lines and Post it.

    Hi Dinabandhu,

    Thanks for your reply.
I tried this one but the adjust transaction is grayed out so I am unable to adjust it.
The transactions relate to an inventory item for a rental asset that was sold with the incorrect financial dimension (suspended cost center).

Will it work to just un-suspend the cost center and process the correction through a journal?

    Thanks.

    Hi Ethel.

Make sure you're adjusting a transaction with a Chargeable invoice status.
Please note that in the Posted transactions screen you can adjust transactions one by one only. If you have to adjust multiple transactions, you should use the adjustment option in the project. To do so, in your project on the action pane select Manage > Process > Adjust transactions. Then hit Select and choose your transaction types and dates and hit OK. Now select all transactions and hit Adjust. In the pop-up screen set Dimension to Yes and hit OK. Now hit Post, and once the operation is successful, your transactions will hold the new dimensions.
