RMA Process in D365 Using WMS

    Hi All,

I am in an Implementation doing D365 using the Advanced Warehouse Management Module. In the RMA process, the Sales order return triggers the RMA Return and put away process. I have the system configured in the main warehouse with a default Receiving Location that is license plate controlled (Auto Generates LP's). The Menu Device Item in the mobile device does not enable me to auto create a License plate upon the receipt process. This would mean that I need to manually create an LP and add it into the mobile device which makes no sense? Am I missing something here?

    RMA & Put Away
Bug or just a Bad design if i a not missing something. Thanks!

    Regards

    -Joe

    Hi Joseph
No, you are not missing anything as there is no Generate licence plate option on the Mobile device menu item for Return order receiving.
I am aware of two workarounds

    1. Have pre-printed Licence plate labels that as you scan on receipt add the Licence plate record, but this means attaching a label
    2. Use the Return order number as the LP value, which should already be on the item

Once the item is inspected, you can use one of the Stock movement menu items, both of which contain a Generate Licence plate option.

This is based on D365FO Update 26.

Craig's right, it is a return so the expectation is that you're either receiving back in a License plate that was shipped on the original sales order or assigning a new one when it is received. Pre-printed LPs or using something like the RMA number as he suggested are the two options we have used most heavily on our implementations.

    Thanks
    Drew
