Hi Justin
We use a 3rd party solution called
Lasernet from Formpipe.
It's not easily set up and needs heavy training to fully understand the logic of reports and connection to Lasernet backend.
Once in place, the reports are very nice and have (almost) limitless possibilities in terms of design. But as I said, it's a rocky road to get there, especially when having a lot of customizations in place.
I suggest trying Management Reporter first and after, if not satisfied, evaluation 3rd party solutions.
Best
Andreas

Hi Mark,
Thank you for the feedback! I actually started exploring the option of creating the report using Management Reporter. I am hoping this will work for them rather than going down the route of a 3rd party solution.
Thank you all for your responses!

Hi Justin,
in AX2012 Microsoft had kept the old SSRS TB report (General Ledger -> Reports -> Transations -> Detailed TB/Summary TB) but this has been deprecated in D365 in place of running the TB and exporting to excel, which I think is what most users were doing anyway. To have a TB that you can print out as a report you will now need to set it up in financial reporting(Management Reporter) there is one already defined as a report definition you can use a starting point.
P.S. Financial reporting doesn't open up if using Chrome as a browser you'll need to add in an extension (Meta4ClickOnce).
Hope that helps!
Mark

Hi,
This topic has come up more and more as of recently - our Finance group has been asking if there are ways ti improve or change the print functionality in D365, more specifically on reports.
One example is the Trial Balance report. After populate the parameters and running the trial balance, they typically need (want?) to print the results. In order to do that, they need to export to excel first. Are there any ways to change/add print functionality for these types of reports, perhaps a 3rd party add-on that can improve the experience for users?
