    Good Afternoon,
We are currently running 2012 R3 and upgraded from CU8 to CU11. We don't allow our physical inventory to go negative. Since the upgrade, we're seeing the AOS Admin role post an inventory adjustment to fix the negative inventory automatically. Does anyone know what is triggering this?
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thank you

I believe this is AX doing what it is 'supposed' to do and trying to make the GL match the sub when it comes to financial dollars. That is if I am understanding your situation correctly. Does the inventory have a negative financial value prior to AOS admin fixing it?

Not always negative, however we do have a value left over in those batches. Be it negative or positive.

    Ashley:

I would surmise that you have a batch job setup by the system administrator role to run an inventory recalc on a periodic (probably daily) basis.  I further would strongly believe that this batch job running the inventory recalc (simulated inventory close to true books and perpetual into alignment for financial updates) is making these entries assigned to that user ADMIN which would be stamped on the voucher audit trail.

Inventory recalc does these true ups not only on negative onhand but on transactions initially recorded at one cost that upon financial receipt gets updated to the known cost and pushed through the value chain.

Perhaps this was it.  Cannot really tell without digging into the weeds on your system settings and transactions.  Hope this helps

    Sincerely,

We found that the correction is instant. We also appear to have narrowed it down to the scanner. This is happening when a production order is scanned by a warehouse worker and it seems like the scanner is allowing inventory to go negative. The system is also not waiting for the production order to be RAF.
Would that still be a batch job?

I agree with Troy. One thing I would like to add is testing the impacts of these changes in your business environment is essential!

    Good Luck!

We're pretty confident that this issue is not a batch job considering our batch jobs are not setup/running for this environment. The negative inventory is fixed as quickly as it goes negative.
