AX 2012 Electronic check signatures

I am trying to test the use of electronic signatures on checks and am running into a bit of a roadblock.

In our process, we are using a workflow to have two payment  approvers approve the payments file.   We currently print the checks and they are manually signed.

We want to have the electronic signatures applied to the checks that are generated from AX.  We want the signatures to be the same two individuals who approved the payment file in the workflow.

I've read the Electronic Signatures topic on TechNet (http://technet.microsoft.com/EN-US/library/dd362020.aspx) but I'm a little lost as to what to do at the step where I need to choose processes that require electronic signatures.

Can anyone shed some light on how they may have configured this process similarly?

If I understand your situation/question correctly, you are interested in the signature image that is printed on a check as part of check printing

These signatures are static, and if you want the approver's specific signature to print dynamically, you will need to customize.
first - to store a signature image for each user involved with approval, and second - changing the printing routine to pick that image, based to who approved the workflow.

I haven't used the 'electronic signature' feature in AX, so by no means an expert, but I think it is related to providing key/code that is used to encrypt data in the database, and is not related to the signature printing on checks.

Zvika is correct. Electronic Signatures are not related to check signing. Check signing simply uses a stored signature image, and the control for check issuance is handled through normal AP security, workflow, and physical controls.
You have 2 image fields available. You can have both signers images, but if you want one or the other depending on who authorizes, you'll have to customize.

We use electronic signatures in our check printing but we do not use any payment approval workflow. Our AP batches are approved at entry and our payment batches are created by the Treasury department. Once created, the batch is printed and the signatures are automatically printed on the check.

We do not vary the signatures by batch. We have 2 different signatures per bank account. The signature image is inserted at Bank Account Setup under Signature.

The Cheque_US.report is an SSRS report that will need to be modified to get the signature image printing above the line.
