I'm using AX 2012 FP. I would like to schedule a recurring job to happen on the last day of each month. I can't find the magic combination of parameters to make this work. Is this even possible?
In 09 it looks like this...
If the month doesn't have a 31th, is the batch job skipped?
I'm going to try and set it for the 31 and see what happens when February rolls around. :D
I don't think there is a magic button. The closest I could find to match what we do is something like this:
But ultimately, some of our months end on the 1st or 2nd of the next month. This is tricky to set up unless you close every 4 weeks, and I haven't heard of anyone doing that. This may be one of those situations where you just have to set a reminder and run the job manually.
Wouldn't it be great to have an option under recurrence for "Use Ledger Calendar"? Are the AX Devs out there listening to us?
Well, so far so good. I originally schedule a jobs for 12/31 and since January ended in the 31st it worked like it should. Once January rolled over the job rescheduled for 2/29, the last day of the month for February this year.
I'm hopeful that it will again reschedule in March for 3/31. I'll post back next month.
Everything worked as I hoped it would. The month ending job has reset itself to the 31 for March. Hope this helps someone else out.
