3rd party eCommerce licensing

I have a question regarding eCommerce licensing in AX in general and AX2012R3 specifically.

We plan to integrate an existing webshop solution with AX2012R3 CU12. Now Microsoft has this "Standard Commerce Core Server (2 Pack)" license, that goes with the Channel Database, Commerce Runtime etc. The question is - how do I need to license following scenarios:

    1) Using Retail channel database for the webshop as a middleware, connecting to the channel database from the eshop, using the online calls - here it is clear I need to license the middleware.
    2) Building new interface to provide just offline data (products and prices to eshop, orders back) - here I assume I do not need any license of AX.
    3) The real need - cover 80% with offline synchronization, but also have some web services for online call based on AIF, that also need to be designed to fit the current webshop (and therefore cannot use the existing Commerce Runtime) - do I need any Standard Commerce Core Server license in this scenario?

I have read the Retail licensing guide http://download.microsoft.com/download/9/7/E/97EFD19B-84A5-4265-8526-640CF6F17F60/Microsoft%20Dynamics%20AX%202012%20R3%20Retail%20Licensing%20Scenarios%20Guide.pdf , but it does not clearly answer my question.

Any other suggestions on the topic are welcome.
