Do you have a checklist for PowerBI report vs SSRS report

    Hi All

Assuming you have a D365 developer and a PowerBI designer available, what checklist do you use to decide if you want a real-time operations report to be an SSRS report and not a PowerBI report that uses directQuery?

The only one I can think of is that the report requires print management (email or printout and it has multiple visuals (as Powerbi can only export the data for one element).

A Dev lead i was talking to said operations reports should be SSRS as PowerBI is designed for analytics and is very slow compared to SSRS, which makes it PowerBI a poor choice.

Anyone care to share what their experience is?

    Thanks

We are shifting all management and analytic reports to PowerBI.   Only line of business(operational) reports will be left in SSRS.    There is also a licensing consideration with PowerBI.

In our experience, PowerBI is significantly faster than SSRS for large datasets.
